IMPORTANT (please read):

Standard Distance National Championships:  The Contact Cup and Trophy races are part of the Tri NZ Standard Distance National Championships.  To be eligible for a medal you need to be a member of Tri NZ prior to starting the event.   To Join Tri NZ online, click here.

Age Group World Championships Selection (Standard Distance):  The Age Group World Championships Selection race is the Contact Trophy event in Wellington.  To be considered for selection you must be a current Triathlon NZ member and a member of an affiliated club before you start the race.  An athlete who is not a current member on the day of the selection race will not be considered.  You also need to submit a Selection Nomination form no later than 2 working days after the selection race, these forms will be available at registration and on race day.  To view the full selection policy click here.


NOTE:  Prize-giving will now be at 4pm at Dockside (Queens Wharf)

ACCOMMODATION:  If you are still looking for accommodation the Duxton has rooms available, please quote 'Tri NZ' when making your booking.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  All ITU Entries (Elite/U23/U19) should have been submitted by 7 February 2010 (NZ Athletes Only).  All other Internationals must go through their governing body as well as entering the event through this website.

Contact Trophy (Age Group) -  Men and Women
Contact Trophy (Teams) - Men, Women and Mixed 
Contact Cup* Elite/U23/U19 Triathlon, Men and Women

*The Contact Cup U19 Event is Sprint Distance Event(750m/20km/5km)

* This is an ITU Oceania Cup drafting race.  In addition to entering with the Contact Tri Series you must also be entered by your National Federation with the ITU.

Uniform Check:     Friday 12 March, 4.00-4.45pm, Marquee on Waitangi Park 
U19 Briefing:         Friday 12 March, 4:30pm, Marquee on Waitangi Park 
Elite/U23 Briefing:  Friday 12 March, 5:00pm, Marquee on Waitangi Park 
Both of these are Compulsory NO ATTENDANCE NO RACE
Note: All those entering the Elite race must also enter through your National federation.

Contact Trophy (Age Group) and Teams
Friday 12 March, 4 – 7pm, at Freyberg Pool
Saturday 13 March, 6 – 6.45am in marquee on Waitangi Park

If you are considering entering for the race the day before, be prepared to stand in line a little longer and paying a late fee of an extra $10. Note: No late entries will be taken on Race Day (Saturday 13 March)

Please note that there is "No Swim Training in the Marina".  Use Freyberg beach

Course Description:

Contact 3:9:3
Swim:  300m Harbour Swim
Bike:    9km
Run:     3km (out and back loop along waterfront)

Contact Trophy (Age Group) Non Drafting
Swim: 1500m Harbour Swim - deep water start
Bike: 40km flat out and back loop to Moa Point
Run: 10km (2 x 5km out and back loop along the waterfront)

Contact U19 (Draft Legal) 2010 Oceania Champs
750m Swim/20km Road Bike/5km Run
Swim:    750m Harbour Swim (1 lap)
Bike:      20km (3 laps)
Run:      2 laps of a 2.5km loop along the waterfront

Contact Cup (Elite/U23) incl 2010 Wellington ITU Triathlon Oceania Cup (Draft Legal)
